In-progress title page for Chapter 2 of The Summer I Forgot My Middle Name Was Grace, “Things That Are More Important.”
Most of the drawings for this book are done, at least I think they are, so things are a little weird and monotonous right now as I make the text. I’m reading a book that is in Garamond, too; my brain is having a hard time reading when I can’t see past the serifs.

Life’s Itinerary

The rest of August: Finish up those puppets, do another poster to sell in the store.

First half of September: Go to Providence, see Olivia. Go to Baltimore, see everyone. Go to SPX. On this roadtrip, draw lots of landscapes.

Second half of September: Print some artists’ books, probably a first folio for The Summer I Forgot My Middle Name Was Grace.

First half of October: Continue artists’ books work, probably a collection of drawings and poetry. Maybe collaborate with Tessa.

Second half of October: Go to France. Draw castles.

November: Go to artists’ books shows.

Warm-up drawing I’m posting as a way of convincing myself it’s done so I can finally move on.
I was at work all day, I’m allowed to do my warm-up drawing at 1:13 am if I want to
EDIT: Let it be known that this is the tiny sheet of paper from my video. The kinda bigga sheet is what I warmed up for.

Just made the last list into a blog post, which you can read by clicking HERE.
Here’s a photo of my cabin studio with The Summer I Forgot My Middle Name Was Grace covering its walls.
For this project I really needed nice white walls to pin stuff to, so I built these temporary walls out of homasote and two by fours. When I work, mostly I stand in this room, stare at the walls, pin, re-pin, and re-re-pin everything into different configurations. Sometimes there are holes and I make stuff to fill the holes. It’s a new process for me and so far it’s been good. (x-post)
